A life-long photographer, Frerichs has used slides and print photos from around the world to enrich and enliven his teachings as Professor of Epidemiology at UCLA (click).  As he approaches academic retirement, his interests have turned again towards photography, notably large panoramas requiring specialty lens, software and related equipment to merge multiple images to create single files of exceptional resolution.  His panoramas are professionally laminated with plexiglass covers and Sintra backing, used to convey a clean, modern image and increased depth of view, as favored by contemporary galleries.  The images range in size from 4 by 29 inches to 16 by 114 inches, with none enlarged beyond the digital resolution of the camera. As a result, the panoramas are exceptionally sharp, providing rich images of Southern California scenery.
